The same 4-pillar System, delivered five ways. Pick the path that fits where you are — individual subscription, quarterly intensive, embedded into your program, regional touring stop, or direct work with Joe.
For ambitious bowlers operating the System from anywhere in the world.
For athletes who want full four-pillar assessment and remediation, every ninety days.
For heads of cricket, club directors and program leaders. Embedded delivery inside your existing structure.
For regional athletes without elite local coaching. A touring high-performance day across 25 regional centres.
For athletes who want individual action work, drawn directly from their Bowler ID priorities.
Fast bowling performance sits at the intersection of four disciplines: the action that produces the ball, the cricket that wins matches, the body that holds up across a season, and the mind that decides under pressure. The FBU System assesses, plans for and re-tests all four — together — on a quarterly cycle, using the leading-edge technology and methods deployed at international and domestic level around the world.
Run-up, jump, alignment, release, repeatability. The mechanics that everything else is built on.
Building pressure, setting batters up, adapting across formats. The thinking side of bowling that turns spells into wickets.
The engine behind the action — and the load management, nutrition and lower-limb care that keep quicks on the park across a season. Fast bowlers break down when this is left to chance.
The composure under pressure that separates net bowlers from match-winners. Built deliberately, not left to temperament.
Intake. Baseline Bowler ID. Quarterly re-assessment across all four pillars. Plan refresh. Continuous delivery between cycles. Every ninety days the system stops, looks, and resets — so an athlete never trains against a stale plan.
The Academy is the monthly subscription path into the FBU System for individual athletes. Both tiers deliver the same four-pillar methodology — they differ in the depth of coaching contact and the volume of feedback. All tiers are month-to-month and delivered remotely.
Both Academy tiers are delivered remotely — no geographic restriction. In-person work with Joe is available separately through One-on-One sessions (from $165). Scholarships available for athletes who meet selection criteria.
Twenty years playing professional cricket around the world at the top level, and Joe is the best bowling coach I have ever worked with. He has an innate understanding of the balance between instinct, biomechanics, and match planning to take your game to the next level.

Join today to get started on your journey to reach your potential. Individual athletes, schools, clubs and professional setups all start in the same place — tell us where you are now and what you're working towards, and we'll come back with the right next step.
Built on the four pillars. Powered by 30 years of elite cricket experience and the world's leading performance technology.
For three decades I've worked inside the most demanding environments in world cricket — coaching India under MS Dhoni, winning Sheffield Shields with Queensland, lifting a Big Bash title with the Adelaide Strikers, and developing some of the fastest, most successful bowlers on the planet.
What I've always believed is this: the difference between an elite fast bowler and a club bowler isn't talent — it's access. Access to a structured plan. Access to the right feedback. Access to coaches who have actually been there. And access to it all year round, not just in the few weeks a coach happens to be in town.
The Elite FBU Academy exists to close that gap. It is the same four-pillar development system used with international fast bowlers, packaged into a monthly subscription that can reach you anywhere in the world — delivered through the latest performance technology and underwritten by my personal involvement.
Welcome to the Academy.
Every athlete is assessed in each pillar, given a development plan for each, and tracked monthly across all four.
Your action, broken down by an international bowling coach using the same review tools used at international and domestic level.
The plans, fields and decision-making that separate good bowlers from match-winners.
An elite S&C system written specifically for fast bowlers — periodised across the cricket year, with sports nutrition and lower-limb care built in.
The composure, routines and confidence to deliver under pressure.
Every Academy athlete begins with a complete four-pillar assessment. We build a personal blueprint — your Bowler ID — and design four parallel development plans that evolve with you.
The Academy is built on the leading-edge technology and methods used at international and domestic level around the world — packaged so an athlete in Brisbane, Bangalore or a regional town with no coach for 500km has an elite training environment in their pocket.
Upload training and match footage from any phone. Coach feedback returned within 5–7 days with side-by-side comparisons against your best reps and benchmark professional actions.
Speed readings, release indicators and biomechanical insights from a single phone camera. No radar, no markers, no lab required — the same approach used in elite high-performance environments.
Your personalised gym program delivered through a professional-standard platform. Load monitoring, exercise videos, progress tracking — plus sports nutrition guidance and podiatry / footwear referral built into the system.
Technical footage, biomechanics data, S&C progress, tactical notes and mental check-ins in one place — with traffic-light status on every pillar.
The Academy is built as a complete twelve-month development cycle. Every quarter we re-assess across the four pillars, reset the plan, and anchor the next ninety days. Three seasonal training blocks underpin it. Four Super Clinics drive it.
Build the engine. Establish elite standards. Action work, baseline testing and seasonal goal-setting.
Maintain peak through competition with load management. Match-day protocols, recovery, tactical execution and mental sharpness.
Active recovery and development. Mental and physical reset, technical re-builds, preparation for the next cycle.
The Super Clinics are the in-person anchors of the Academy's 12-month system. Each one runs across three days, re-assesses every athlete across the four pillars, and ships a remediation plan for the quarter ahead. Four clinics a year — one to guide and set up each of the next three months.
Inside the Academy, your training is continuous. But every ninety days your action, your body, your tactics and your headspace need real eyes, real testing and a re-set plan. That's what the Super Clinics deliver. Three days, four pillars, four written remediation plans. Then back into the system for the next quarter.
The pre-season anchor. Baseline test the year, rebuild the action, and lock in the foundation block. This is where the engine gets built before the season starts.
The early-season anchor. Translate pre-season work into match performance. Sharpen tactics, calibrate load, and pressure-test the action before the first peak of competition.
The mid-season anchor. Reset the body, refine the plan, and prepare for the back end of the season. Volume management, tactical maturity and finishing the year strong.
The off-season anchor. Review the year, rebuild from the ground up, and design the next twelve months. The biggest technical and physical changes happen here.
Built for fast bowlers who want to train like professionals — regardless of age, location or current standard.
Two ways into the FBU System. Both remote — anywhere in the world. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime.
Both tiers are delivered remotely — no geographic restriction. In-person coaching with Joe is available separately through One-on-One sessions (from $165). Scholarships available for athletes who meet selection criteria.

FBU Roadshow is a touring high-performance program bringing world-class batting and bowling coaching, biometric testing and elite-level technology to 25 regional Queensland centres a year — at no cost to the athletes who attend.
Queensland produces a disproportionate share of Australia's professional cricket talent. But the systems around that talent — biomechanics screening, action analysis, bat sensor data, structured testing — are still concentrated in Brisbane. Regional families face three structural barriers. The Roadshow closes all three.
Most high-performance pathways require travel to Brisbane, multiple times a year, at significant family cost. The Roadshow takes the academy to the athlete.
Private academy fees, biomechanics screens and bat sensor sessions are typically $200–$800 per athlete. The Roadshow is free for every athlete who registers.
Without measurement, talented regional athletes are missed, mis-coached, or simply unaware of how they compare to peers. The Roadshow gives every athlete a permanent profile.
Each visit operates two structured streams — bowling and batting — run as separate sessions. Every athlete is biometrically measured, video-recorded with elite tracking technology, and given access to their own data and footage post-event.
Permanent athlete identifier & digital profile.
All footage delivered to athletes via the FBU cloud video platform.
Biometrics, speed, bat metrics, skills scores.
Coach commentary & age-appropriate next steps.
Athletes (or parents) register online 4–6 weeks ahead of each event. On the day, every athlete moves through a structured five-stage flow.
ID confirmation, bib collection, briefing, parent consent verification.
Height, arm span, vertical jump, horizontal jump, 20m sprint (plus run-a-three for batters).
Bowling: action video + speed gun + target test. Batting: bat sensor + iPad video + shot execution.
1:1 short feedback from program coach with key insights from the day's data.
Athletes receive cloud video platform access details and post-event next steps.
Stops are clustered into seven geographic loops. The calendar avoids exam blocks, peak local cricket finals and the Far North wet season. First stops kick off September 2026 in south-east Queensland.

breakEvery piece of technology was chosen because it can be set up in under an hour in a regional venue, operated by a small touring crew, and produces data that is immediately useful to athletes and credible to coaches.
High-frame-rate front-on and side-on capture for batting and bowling. Same platforms used by professional players.
Broadcast-quality speed measurement on every delivery, with tripod mounting kit and spare batteries on every tour.
Bat-mounted sensor capturing bat speed, swing path and impact metrics. Pairs to iPad for instant feedback.
Footage uploaded within 72 hours under each athlete's profile. Coach annotations and longitudinal review.
Registration opens 4–6 weeks before each event. Email or message us to be added to the alerts list for your region, or register direct on the FBU platform once your stop's date is published.
FBU Roadshow is purpose-built for partnership: a repeatable 25-event annual canvas, a cricket-engaged regional audience that's hard to reach any other way, rich digital content from every stop, and measurable outputs you can report against. We're inviting a small number of founding partners to shape the program before the calendar is locked.
25 events provide a stable annual canvas — not a one-off activation.
Every event produces structured digital data — registrations, sessions, video views, social impressions.
Free, regional, equitable, athlete-centric — a credible community story for any brand.
Physical signage, athlete bibs and station co-branding, plus persistent placement in the FBU app.
Hundreds of branded video assets per season — short-form and long-form, ready to redistribute.
Endorsed by cricket bodies and regional associations — sponsor presence carries authority.
Cricket-engaged junior athletes plus the parents, clubs and schools that surround them — in catchments where major sponsor advertising is otherwise hard to land.
Cricket-engaged, performance-minded, regional Queensland.
High household-decision influence; spend on sport, education and travel.
Decision-makers for grassroots equipment, programs and partnerships.
Recruiters, sports coordinators and PE departments.
Plus the digital halo — every athlete share, parent post and coach annotation extends the brand.
All tiers include first right of renewal for the following season and a co-branded post-event report covering reach, engagement and athlete metrics.
All tiers come with both physical and digital activation — scaled by partnership level.
We're inviting a small number of founding partners to shape the FBU Roadshow before the calendar is locked. Start at the level that fits your category and budget — there's no one-size-fits-all entry point.
A 30-minute conversation to walk through the program in your category. No commitment.
Underwrite one of the August 2026 pilot events on the Darling Downs and co-design activation before the public launch.

The Roadshow is built around local partners on the ground. If you're a school, club, association or council with the venue, the network and the want — let's talk. We supply the coaches, equipment, technology and program. You supply the local pull.
State, independent or sports colleges with cricket nets and active programs. Roadshow becomes a branded school day.
Regional and district associations with athlete recruitment reach and venue access across multiple clubs.
Local clubs with strong junior programs looking to add a high-performance touchpoint for their members.
Regional councils, RDA bodies and tourism boards backing community sport, talent development and youth engagement.
Email or WhatsApp us with your venue, your role and the rough catchment size. We'll send back a host checklist.

Thirty years inside elite cricket — as a Queensland Bull, as bowling coach to India's Test attack, as GM of Elite Cricket for Queensland, and as the architect of the FBU 4-pillar system.

285 first-class wickets. Two Sheffield Shield titles. Pura Cup wicket-taker, 2001/02.

Bowling coach under Duncan Fletcher. ICC Champions Trophy winners and No. 1 in the world across all 3 formats.

GM of Elite Cricket. Bulls, Heat, statewide pathway oversight.

Joe Dawes is widely regarded as one of the leading fast bowling coaches in international cricket. A former Queensland Bull with 285 first-class wickets, he learned his craft alongside Ian Healy, Andrew Symonds, Michael Kasprowicz and Andy Bichel before becoming one of the game's most respected bowling mentors.
His coaching career spans elite programs in India, Australia's national women's team, Queensland, South Australia and Papua New Guinea. He was bowling coach of India's national cricket team under MS Dhoni — coaching Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja during one of India's most successful eras.
His teams and programs have won at the highest levels: the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy with India, the Big Bash League title with the Adelaide Strikers, multiple Sheffield Shields with Queensland, and historic ICC World Cup qualification with Papua New Guinea.
The FBU 4-Pillar System is the distillation of those three decades — the System Joe used at every level, now codified so it can be delivered to athletes and programs anywhere in the world.
Join as an individual athlete, or bring the 4-pillar system into your school, club or professional setup.
Three pieces of equipment, spec'd by Joe and used inside the Academy. Built for serious quicks who want their training to actually move the needle.

Twice the length of a standard cricket spike. Bites deeper into wet surfaces for a firmer plant, cleaner block and a more stable base — more speed, better alignment, less slip-related stress on ankles, knees and hips.

A complete, progression-based system for stronger, more efficient fast-bowling mechanics. Each weight challenges wrist stability, arm-speed sequencing and force transfer.

Premium Australian leather, true 4-piece construction. The bold red/white split exposes seam angle, wrist position and swing shape in real time — instant, accountable feedback.
